My Friend Dalton

My Friend Dalton is not just a biography—it’s a tribute to a man who’s spent his life challenging others to rise. Whether in academia, community organizing, or quiet one-on-one conversations, Dr. Miller-Jones has always pushed people to expand their thinking, elevate their purpose, and lift as they climb. Told through the eyes of those he’s impacted across the country, this film captures the echoes of a life lived in service of growth, truth, and transformation.

Blend: On Being Black In Bend

Run Time: 48min
Rating: Unrated

A documentary filmed in 2022 during the tail end of COVID and the civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd that asks 10 Black Central Oregonians about their experiences living, working and playing in the High Desert. Too often, when interviewed by traditional media, the “hard parts’ are often left out to make the content “digestible”. This documentary contains uncensored lived experiences.

What People Are Saying

“As a white newcomer to Central Oregon , “Blend” was required watching for me. “Blend” is a gift, an offering, a bridge to open our eyes to how it feels to be in the Central Oregon community as a Black person.

Director Kenneth Adams provides a platform for genuine sharing and a small but crucial step toward deeper empathy and understanding. Blend as a title begins as a play on the words ‘Black’ + ‘Bend’ but goes further as interviewees share their initial experiences, at what point those began to shift and the blend in which they experience Central Oregon now.”

-Ashton V

“Blend is a film that explores different perspectives of how others see themselves as a person of color in a community that isn’t so culturally diverse. It’s refreshing to see different narratives of what being “black” can mean across experiences instead of prescribing a monolithic frame of mind. The film honors the in-betweens, giving weight to the choice of title. I look forward to more projects by Kenneth Adams that highlight the many ways Black people carry themselves in the world.”
